Grotex PR 101 For Processing/Finishing
Starch is a traditional finishing agent for cotton and rayon fabrics and has been very popular during the last century, even though its finish is nondurable.
It is basically used to improve the appearance of fabric by imparting gloss and by removing wrinkles formed during preparation of fabric.
grodex PR 101 is made from combination of starch wheat, potato, rice, maize, sago, etc. Each starch is to be cooked at the geletinisation temperature to get a homogeneous paste; various filling agents and mangels are then added for the application of starch. grodex PR 101 is being substituted for by synthetic polymers such as polyvinyl alcohol polyvinyl acetate etc
Adavantages
grodex PR 101 acts as binder for different filling agents which increases weight of the fabric and improves fullness or handle of the fabric. It also increases stiffness of the fabric by increasing its resistance to bending. This increase in stiffness allows garments to retain their shapes and improve wearability
